Stamp Duty from 1 January 2010

Please remember that as it stands, the stamp duty threshold which is currently £175,000 will return to the earlier (lower) level of £125,000.

For those buying property between £125,000 and £175,000, if the property is purchased after 31 December 2009, this will attract 1% stamp duty. There is considerable market activity aiming to complete purchases before the change at the end of the year.
